  The subject may be misleading but this is an odd problem I'm stuck on -
  
  Xanthia shorturl seems to work fine AND all of the modules show the shorturl links in presentation.
  
  AutoTheme shorturl works (shorturls do render to the native URL) but the Sections module doesn't show the shorturls in presentation - in other words in Sections the module shows all the links as the native links... Not a rewrite problem but something to do with the way the autourl works with the section module? Has anyone had anything like this happen or have any ideas? (I've searched forums here and at the at site without success)

  Can you clarify what version PN you're using?
  
  I checked my .750b install - the Sections menu item shows as ../Sections.html
  
  My .760 install - Sections menu item come up as ../mod-Sections.html
  
  ...so I know it works for those...are you also having problems with the menu items showing the Short URLs or is it only in a URL with a whole slew of arguments in it that's offending?

  It's a clean .760 install - it's actually at altertainment.net (which is a development site).
  
  sections module shows up as name-Sections.html - it's the individual sections and individual articles which autourl doen't pick up the short URL form for (but it did work in Xanthia)
  
  So I think it is your last question - its the section mod views for individual sections articles

  I'm in a bit of a hurry so I'm going to take a stab and say that maybe AT's AutoURL's don't support enough arguments. This is just a guess. Compare the .htaccess file for Xanthia themes against that for AutoThemes and see if there's any differences.
  
  But first...you did switch the .htaccess file to one that shipped with AT, and aren't trying to use the Xanthia one, right? If not, start there first.
