Not sure this is the place to ask. But i am looking for a module that shows the artist of the week. It's for graphic artists and i want to place an image and link of an artist every week that will be the artist of the week.
Or maybe there is a module out there allready i could use for this.
Thanks in advance

By hand, i choose an artist every week and place the image along with a link to his galleries and a little text why i liked the art. That is basicly it. Now i could make a categorie for that but then it will show in the same block as where the news is in. -

Well, since you're picking by hand, it doesn't need to be dynamic...and then, since it doesn't need to be dynamic, it doesn't absolutely need to be a dedicated module...and finally, since it doesn't need to be a module, we've narrowed it down to this: use a block! In fact, an HTML block will suit your needs quite nicely I'm sure.
pnAdmin -> Blocks -> New Block -> Core/HTMLblock -

Matter of perspective. If I put content like that on one of my sites, I want it archived for future reference. Better Pagesetter publication than a bunch of deactivated HTML blocks :)

That seems more reasonable for sure...
Theoretically, Pagesetter can do virtually anything (well, in the right hands it can...) ...Is it out of the question (or possible) to replace many (or all) core modules with PS pubs? That would clean up an entire directory (and maybe a nice chunk of disk space...) The distro would be super light too...
Is there any work to this end...or is PS still in more of an "acceptance" stage? -

If it has to be simple, I would use a category of the news, and one of the featured-article blocks (i-featured_article from pnc_addons)

As John says, the Pagesetter Suite can effectively replace all the content modules. It already includes some import features to move from a module to a publication type. Creating the equivalent publication and the import script should suffice for a large part of the std modules.
I would strongly support such a move! -

I think, pretty much all the content modules that ship could be replaced with PS pubs. Even Links & Downloads. It'd even be possible to have upload capabilites if the admin wanted.
The problem with including it in the core is that it's felt that it is too complex for the average user. And at least from a stand point of entry forms, I agree. I personally don't care for Guppy as the Input form layout tool, I'd much rather see pnRender used. There's more flexibility with pnRender, and it's more straight forward for a less technically minded user.

I _like to_ consider myself more advanced than an average user...and I too have trouble with it. Just like HTML, AutoTheme & PHP though, once you have your own personal epiphany, you're good to go... still holding out for mine. :)
