FileShare with PHP as a CGI?  Bottom

  • FileShare is up to v0.1b as of right now, and in all, there's been over 300 downloads. Someone must have tried it on PHP running as a CGI...right?

I know I can just switch my PHP over, but figured it was easier to ask here... call me lazy I guess...!

I'm interested to know if FileShare runs smoothly on PHP running as a CGI...but I'm thinking .htaccess doesn't work in local directories with this method... can anyone confirm...?

    Thanks,

    Alar
  • Hey John,

Is this still available I see it working here, It looks great, but the download link on your site is dead, Are you still supporting this mod?

    Thanks
  • Hi Rick,

Yea, I thought that was a great render of the module as well ... really nicely integrated into the look and feel of the site. I also came across the site while doing a google for FileShare, and sent a note of "Hey, nice job..." :)

I'm handling all module requests through my my contact form; it's handier when I have a message to attach the file to.

    Thanks!
  • Golly gee willickers, thanks guys! 8) But I couldn't have done it without FileShare, the coolest downloads module around. Call me one-sided, but all of John's modules are cool -- note that I am also using the About and Mission Statement modules on that same site. :)
  • :D

Thanks Wendell! It's nice to stumble upon a site that's using a range of your work ... and then to get some great feedback on top ... well it just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside ... :D

    Thanks!
  • Is this module still available for download. The link is dead, and the main website seems to free of ANYthing PN.

  • Aha! A bit confusing. I read that as "if you want to pay me to make a custom module, request here".

Maybe you could have something like "heard I've got some great PN modules - ask for a copy here"

    Just a thought.

Off to the "request" form :)
  • AGlossop,

I've split your last post into a topic of it's own to help keep things sorted. You'll find a reply there as well.

  • It seems that the answer to this question is NO, it doesn't work with PHP as a CGI. In case someone else reads this and wonders what the answer was (is).
  • Actually, the answer is yes.

Perhaps some host-level over-ride is in effect on your domain?

What version of FileShare are you running? Current release is v.2 ...
  • yes, v2
