New Install - Error: Xanthia not initialised

Why am I getting this error. I have followed the instructions to the letter. I have tried reinstalling several time and creating the database several times.

Error: Xanthia not initialised
It will NOT go past thois point.
TIA
I tried to use the search function here using the keyword "Xanthia" and it listed EVERY topic. Is the search screwed up????

There must be thousands of topics here with the word Xanthia in them - are you surprised the search gave so many results?

Just for extra mesure I just DL'ed the .gz of 7.60. I does exactly the same thing on a NEW install.
The search for "Xanthia" brought up a LOT of pages. Accessing one of the pages I did a find from my browser for Xanthia and it came up 'nothing found'.

Your problem is either missing files or Xanthia tables already in the database - meaning the install script for Xanthia can't complete.
