Just wanted to see if this would be of interest to anyone:
*Inventory Module
This module allows you to facilitate sales between buyers and sellers. You make a profit whenever a buyer purchases a lead.
A lead is purchased when someone requests pricing on a specific product.
An example of how this module would work,
Say you owned or wanted to start a special interest group website. e.g Computerspecials.com (fictious)
You would allow your Sellers to list thier products and quantities on your site (For free).
BUSINESS: XYZ Computer Seller
Manufacturer:Dell
Description: New Dell 1.8 GiG Machines
Model: Dell 1800
Part Number: DEL0520110
Condition: New
Quantity: 25
[x] Request a Quote
After a Buyer requests a quote for one of the Dells, He fills in his contact information, then hits submit.
Now the Vendor gets an email saying someone would like a quote for A New DELL PC and allows him to purchase the persons contact information via Paypal.
So basically you are being paid to provide contact information to interested parties.
This could be of use for most Specialty Websites like:
Car, Boat, Motorcycle, Insurance, Computer, Gaming, Healthcare, Anything where quantities could be sold...
Admin Feature:
Give Credits
View/Delete Vendors
Edit Inventories
Items per page
Decide on Price per Lead
Paypal email address
Decide how many inventories to list in Block
Seller Features:
Upload Inventory via Txt file
Add/Remove Inventory via backend
Paypal integrated
Buyers Features
Search For Varity of varibles, name, manufacture, etc..
Comes with a Last X block with Search feature.
PN760 compatible.
I just want to see if anyone would be interested in this.

I would have an interest - I've thought of coding something similar, but more of a "buying club" where users say they want something, and when a minimum number is reached (the minimum set by the manufacturer to be ordered from) then they can be bought in bulk, shipped to a distributor or the site owner to be shipped out to others. This would allow small site owners to offer goods without having to put down hard money before they have customers in place for it. Also, customers get a good deal becuase they can buy in bulk with only a small mark-up instead of a retail one.
What is the status of what you are planning? dreams? a current project?

I know what your looking for, that is more of a "Group Buy" module. When I had my sportbike website, we just sticked a post, but it would have been great if I had a module that took care of all the details like you were saying. It works great for places everyone likes to buy the same thing one piece of gear.
This module is a current project, its working mostly. Just hammering out the last details. -

If you could abstract the fields - so that the labels are based on a field type - it could be used for a variety of other things as well - a services directory, pick-a-pro type of thing where users could submit requests to painters, carpenters, etc, and get responses from them. The site admin would get a percentage of any final transaction or a flat rate for providing the inquiry. Just a thought
