pnAddressBook pnRendered?  Bottom

  • I have seen it in the cvs on the NOC site and also have checked out a packaged, but unfortunately its not really working yet. Just wondering how far it is off from being completed.
  • Hi,

us brave souls from the www.open-star.org project will be releasing our upgrade to 0.760 any day now. This upgrade will include a first (beta) version of our next-generation address book which will have the following new&cool features:
    - uses layers
    - multi-categorization
    - pnRender based
    - other nice stuff
Since this comes from the open-star project, you'll either need Openstar installed or install our v4blib on top of an existing PN installation (another advantage is that the it's written to our object libraries which means that code size is significantly smaller than the existing pnAddressBook even though it has more features). This new AddressBook should be quite a step forward from the existing pnAddressBook ...

It basically works but needs another few hours of bugfixing & cleanup but it's basically good to go ...

  • Would be nice if you set it so that it could use DUD so that it could actually interface with the user database instead of having a completely seperate table for it.

Maybe this is a dumb quesiton, but what do you mean with/by DUD?

  • Dynamic User Data

And what is Open Star and why do I need it?
  • OK, got the DUD ...

So you want the addressbook to access DUD? Shouldn't be that hard to add ...

What is Openstar: see www.open-star.org . It's a value-added PN distribution with a bunch of 3rd party modules (and a bunch we wrote ourselves) which from the looks of it, will fold lots of code (basically our dev libraries) back into PN ...

  • Yes i do rgasch. I want to use the addressbook to better organize my clients contact information (clients are members of the site), so im not wanting to duplicate information or have to type in information that already exists in their account as DUD.
