"INSTANT" UPDATE - The problem described below does appear to be a server problem. So this message can be deleted. I can't find where I can delete it... I just went to my webhosts support department and got an SQL error as follows, "MySQL Error: ()
MySQL Error: () Settings table not built, please goto Settings > General and click Update" So I guess I have to wait til they get back from labor day weekend! hehe.
Ok, I've looked around, and see many posts about "problem in database connection." However, none are helping me, cuz the solutions provided, I cannot try. I cannot even get into phpMyAdmin, it tells me wrong username/password. When I go to my hosts cpanel, my SQL database entries, do not exist. Then when I try to restore a backup, it won't let me. "Too many connections" error.
When I go to my "backup" option in cpanel, under the SQL portion I have this error,
"DBI connect('mysql:localhost','root',...) failed: Too many connections at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Mysql.pm line 44 ERROR 1040: Too many connections" this looks like a server problem? And not necessarily my site? Am I correct in assuming this, or no?
No idea how this happened. Used my site last nite, no problem. Got up this morning, "problem in database connection." Any suggestions?
Thanx!

Your analysys so far is correct - it's a server problem. The error is saying that the mysql (database) server has reached the maximum allowed connections. Contact your server administrator (host) with this problem.
The PostNuke 'problem in database' connection is a generic error page shown when any kind of DB problem is encountered - better than displaying the full error to your vistors.
