MP3 Store  Bottom

  • Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've posted but here's something I really need to sort out.

I run a large underground music community, with many producers and up coming artists posting their music on a regualr basic for download. With the death of vinyl and the MP3 revolution, it means that many artists are stuggling to survive in the more underground forms of music. I have a new postnuke site ready to go, complete with OS Commerce (for mechandise and physical product), but I really want a MP3 store on there, where the artists can put their tracks for download - music lovers pay via paypal for the download and the track is beamed directly to their computers. The artists gets the money for the download and bam, at last they're able to feed the kids.

Right, I've thought about a system where you use permissions, so that a person who's paid for the track gets access to a specific download section but if there's hundred of tracks available from different artists, this is going ot be a nightmare to admin. Plus it's incredible fiddly for those doing the downloading.

So I just need a system where the user can click buy on the specific track they want (perhaps with a sneaky preview to listen too), put in their paypal details and the track is then downloaded. I've seen duke box style modules like jinzora (which look great!!!) but there's no way to pay before you download.

Is there anything out there like this??? Or perhaps a simple mod to the Jinzora module that someone could help me write????? Honest, there'd be thousands of really happy people in our community if this could be done.

    Please help us!!!

    Massive thanks in advance ;)

  • Anyone?? PLEASE!!!!!
  • Its definately possible, just pay someone to make the modifications jinzora or some other audio module. You can probably get it done for pretty cheap at scriptlance.com
  • Another thought, check out dev.pnconcept.com. I was thinking he was working on some paypal cart for file downloads.
  • excellent, thank you. i got an email back from dev and unfortunately his project isnt close to being completed.

i emailed scriptlance but no-one's replied yet.

if anyone has any other suggestions, that would be great..

    cheers MACscr
  • try pnmodules.com, they have something there too. You have to pay for it though and its made for .726, but it might work for you.
