    Hello all,
I downloaded the advanced theme from PostNuke. I love this theme but it crashes my iexplorer. It runs fine under opera, and on webvida's demo website my iexplorer doesn't crash. I tried changing the doc type because of an article I read here and it still crashes but not as fast. I believe webvida is really busy because I emailed him last week and haven't gottin a response so I am hoping someone else could help me. I couldn't come up with anything searching the PN website :)

What I couldn't figure out is that it doesn't crash my ie at webvida's site that runs the advanced them, I also ran across another PN website that was running the advanced them (it was slightly modified) and it didn't crash my browser.....

webvida, did you update the CSS at your website running the advanced theme to get it not to crash ie?

Its the javascript - disabling the javascript driven features will stop IE from crashing

We are using this theme on a new site and we are fleshing out the exact problem with the javascript stuff. But its a starting point.

hmm... wonder if it is related to my javascript not working on my site. Mine was a webdia theme that I modified.

Well we removed all the javascript driven features and it still seems to crash for some users - all doing different things. Bloody IE sucks BTW.

Reading this you see the problem was in the CSS "float" - it is used numerous times in this theme CSS. Could that be the source of the problem? I am trying right now to rewrite it without the "float".

Has this been solved? Writing it without the "float"? If so... where can I find a copy of the advanced theme which works both in IE and other browsers?

We abondoned our work on it for another theme. It is a nice theme, but getting the IE error out was eating up too much time. I have seen an Xanthia theme that looks pretty much the same, but I have never seen it for download.

Thatīs unfortunate. PostNuke needs acceptable themes. The free themes available are without exeptions terrible. It would be nice if some of our otherwise excellent programmers would take a lesson in theme design. icon_wink
