MySQL Tools  Bottom

  • Regarding useful module I found the MYSQL Tools Module was a great resource and convenient.

Has it been considered for a default module opun the 760 release??
  • The last thing PN needs is additional modules included with the core. If you want bloatware, MD-Pro can take care of that for you.
  • I've mentiond this in other threads before that I don't think that this kind of module is really necessary or, more importantly, desirable.

The two modules mysql_tools and pnBackup both are good at what they do however should you have to restore a site from backup after a disc crash, a hack or some other serious problem then you'll not have postnuke working so will have to fall back to using a tool like phpMyAdmin. Given that I think it's better to learn to use these tools for backup, optimisation etc. so when you really do need them you are already familiar with the basics.

  • Using the tool for optimizing was my main focus but has more options for users to do this via PN rather then going into phpMyAdmin. (ease of use)

    Optimizing ;)

Maybe I should start directing my posts to those who will reply a lil more positive and not remarking his/her opinions about other CMS's. Again I did not ask for a preference or a personal opinion about the size or other CMS's :)
