    Hey all,

I need some help trying to get going on setup. My interface for the server is Plesk 7.5.1.

We're using Post Nuke .750-1 after installing the program all we get is a Blank Page when we go via the domain name / index.php or admin.php.

How do I get to the post nuke admin page? I mean there must be an administration panel similar to that of the PhPBB forums no?

However I installed the PHPbb forums and that worked without a glitch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    MrSmee

The admin page is yoursite/admin.php. Something must not be right - I suggest you delete all the files Plesk installed and the database as well and install the "traditional" way - upload the files and run the installer.

Ok I did it the old fashioned way and it still comes up as a blank. The manual installation went exactly as it should but at the end of the install where it asks you to click on the link to get to your new site the page comes up empty...like a white sheet.

I did create the database before starting and removed the plesk install before beginning the manual install.

You need to find MarkWest's blank page tutorial - it will help you get errors instead of blank pages - it's a lot easier to fix an error than a blank.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your help all. We kind of figured out that it had something to do with the server provider and we proposed the question to them and it was fixed. Unfortunately they didn't send us the information as to what caused the problem.

All I need to figure out now is, How do I get Plesk to point to the index.php file, so that when you type in the domain name it goes to the homepage?

Right now I get a Fedora Core test page and it tells me that

    Quote

"If you are the website administrator:
You may now add content to the directory /var/www/html/. Note that until you do so, people visiting your website will see this page, and not your content. To prevent this page from ever being used, follow the instructions in the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/welcome.conf."

but there is no www directory and it won't let me create it, also with the last path it also is missiong directories in order to get rid of the test page.

    thx

You don't have to point to index.php - pointing to the folder itself will automatically load index.php by default. To point it to something else requires edits to the .htaccess file.

    Thanks again Frank,

What I seem to be having an issue with is I still get the fedora core test page when my URL is typed in www.thedfn.com but the actual direct path to my home page is www.thedfn.com/cms/index.php

How do I configure the site so that just www.thedfn.com goes directly to the index.php for the homepage?

The paths that the fedora core test page give in the explanation on the test page do not exist or at least the sub directories don't exist.

    Greatly appreciate the help.

You might look in the folder for an index.htm/html or home.htm/html file. These would take precedence over your index.php file. If you find them, you'll probably find your default Fedora page.
