I'm trying to get the RSS feed to work with a variety of different feeds. Works fine with BBC News, but I'm having trouble getting it to work on a WordPress generated RSS 2.0 and another site which uses 1.0/rdf - in both cases the feed doesn't appear.
Anyone know what the problem is?

"the rss feed" is what exactly?
You mentioned different feed types. Rss 1 and 2 are different, there's also XML and atom out there. MyHeadlines, RSSDisplay and scripts like rsstophp and magpieRSS can be used with most types if not all.
