  I'm a parent of a teenager and want to build a safe place for my 13-year-old and her friends to meet online.
  
  Call me a prude, but I'm disgusted with myspace.com... which says people must be 16 to create profiles but has hundreds of them from 10,11, 12-year-olds, not to mention questionable photos and content.
  
  Do you think I could use PN to build a myspace-like community for teens? Are there suitable themes and modules out there that I could use?
  
  Anybody have any other open-source software recommendations?
  
  I'm starting with PN because I have a little experience with it for my own site.

  Yes, you can use PN for that,
  there are a lot of modules (although you should wait a bit an do it with the next core version(0760) which is about to be released and maybe not all modules are ready to be installed there), and then install the modules you want.. try the random quotes block, admin messages,etc..(core)
  some third party mods i'll recomend for that:
  pnflashgames, spchat(or another or shoutbox), a gallery(or another), a tarot based mod (adapt it for card games or something), advanced polls, dpelinks, even dpbitorrent(or maybe too much),.. pnforum (of course)
  and something for user profile

  use also rss blocks for your main mods

  I'd be very interested in this too. Just in the short time I've been on myspace it seems like its gone to crap. Unmoderated forums, photos that are clearly against the posted rules, etc
