Has anyone created one? I would think that this would be something fairly simple to create, but I'm no coder..
A module that puts up a customizable HTML page when you you select maintenance mode to be active. That way users know your site isn't down, your performing maintenance.
I know i could switch the default directory to some HTML file .. but thats a pain. This would be a good feature.

.76 already has this and is even templated. The option to turn it on is in the Admin => Settings area. -

So, lemme guess.. my only option of putting this feature on the site, is to upgrade to .760 and spend another 120 man hours trying to get modules i had working before, working again...? I checked out a install of 760 and i didn't care for it at all. I cant remember what it was in specific, but it jacked up all sort of neat stuff i had working on my test site. Wasn't too happy.. to say the least. No upgrade from 750 feature.. Too many weird things with it. All this changing the way stuff works each version is getting old.. wether i understand it or not.
I thought this was a no brainier module possibly already available for .750 and below.
Thanks for the response MACscr. -

If u want a no brainer and something simple, then just put a index.html file in your PN root directory with whatever info u want.
As far as upgrading .75 to .76, i have done it with many sites and its well worth the upgrade. If you have a lot of customizations though, i would wait for .76 final. I have been using it since January and have been very happy with it and its new features. -

what i did, was put an index.html in the core root PN it works.
and yes i tested the "turn off site" feature in 760. this also works, i like the concept, but there are a few issues with it (once you log off, u cant log back in and u need to use PSAK) -

If you dont want to upgrade you can use what I use. Its a simple module and not complient. Activate it like any other module and change your start page to downtime when you want to do maintenance. You can still log on using user.php or user.phtml if using Auto Theme.
