Hi, i have installed v4bJournal and it appears to be working properly except for the comments. I read that you have to give user this access if you DO NOT have granular permissions set. Which is the case for my installation.
I tried to add it as a permission as the follow:
Group | Component | Instance | Permission levels
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Users | v4bJournal:: | .* | Comment
Doesn't seem to be working. But, then again. I'm not very familiar with setting permissions in postnuke.
I'm also having a issue with it not saving my ticks in the configuration. The settings seem to be going through ok, but it doesn't "visually" save what i input into the configuration settings.
Just wondering if someone can shed some light on this for me so i can get the comments fired up and working. I appreciate the help. Thanks. :)

Ok, from your description you've done everything right.
Did you check the "enable EZComments" checkbox in the module preferences (Admin->Moudules->edit_v4bJournal)?

Ive never been able to get EZComments working with .750a. Doesn't work. I enabled EZComments for the module just for kicks and it still doesn't work.
So, i don't know if you have an EZComments version that actually works with .750a but if you could post one that works i would appreciate it. I'm sure that will fix this problem.
Thanks for the response. -

Anyone have a link to a EZComments version or fix that works with .750? -

Actually, i figured out that this was my problem with EZComments. --> http://forums.postnuke.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=30006 didn't have the compile directory writable.
Problem solved. Works a charm. :) -

I reopen this thread because I've encountered the same problem.
I'm running v4bJournal 0.98 on postnuke 0.760 and with EZComments 1.3RC1. The module seems to work correctly, but I've tried to display comments and nothing seems to happen. I have activated the EZComments hook on the module but it doesn't even appear.
I've set the following permission as said in the readme.txt file: Users journal_comment: v4bJournal:: Comment but it still doesn't work
Any ideas? Thanks. -

Hmm, I don' think this will work in 0.98. Like I said in our latest release announcement, 0.98 is the version which was rewritten to be pnRender based and to use to the Openstar Object model: is is brand new code and should be considered Beta.
Having said this, EZComment integration is not part of the code right now. I just focussed on getting the basics to work. EZComment integration will come in the next version once I'm satisfied that the basic module works ...

I'm having this same issue ... when I tick the 'private' box and save changes the box isn't ticked when the page refreshes. I have EZComments installed, and in the v4bJournal have EZComments allowed in the hooks menu. It's postnuke 7.6 and v4bJournal 0.98
Do I have maybe CHMOD permissions off?
