Im making a new theme for my clan, however, I cannot decide whether to use PHP-nuke like I have in the past, or use post-nuke. This site really caught my attention. http://www.port-all.com/v4/ This guy is a PHP-nuke theme creator, yet he has a postnuke website, whats up with that?
Be as detailed as you like on the comparisons. Muchas gracias!

It would take alot longer for us to type out all the reasons than for you to click that link and type in 'PHPNuke PostNuke Comparison' as a search term.
In fact, it's taken me longer to write this that it would to do the search.

Hmmm, well lets see.
First, I'm not a coder; can't code a living thing. I'm just a user. But you're got enough knowledge to mod phpBB and that's light years beyond me.
Second, this is open source stuff. No one makes a penny more if you use it or not.
Third, the nature of open source is that everyone contributes.
Fourth, the question has been answered many time before and the information is available for you to read at your leisure. The folks here have taken steps to make sure that happens.
Now, please tell me why the very knowedgeable people here should take time from their already busy lives to answer questions already answered and available for you?
I personally very much prefer those great folks do that which I cannot do myself; for example, work on making the code for 0.760 bulletproof and available as a release.
Now, in my opinion, mod'ing the code to something as complicated as phpBB isn't easy, so I know you're not really lazy. -

If you use the free autothemes module, then you can create an AutoTheme (i.e. a powerful HTML based theme) and it will be compatible with both postnuke and phpnuke. In other words, you can your theme on both systems and draw your own conclusions.
As for me, I think postnuke and phpnuke are two sides of the same coin. Really no appreciable difference. It is more important to determine which modules you needs - see which system has them - and then pick that CMS.
You'll hear alot of criticism of phpnuke based on security, but I had a postnuke 750 hacked just last week. It was a stupid little hack that was easily remedied, but it shows that postnuke isn't any more secure than phpnuke (at least that is the conclusion I drew from the experience). -

Hmm that's strange
maybe some people here @ postnuke.com try to praise phpNuke and other system because they're designing Themes for all Nuke systems. And maybe some are angry because Xanthia became the official PN theme engine and not Autothemes ;)

I think you'll find that most of the theme designers make both autothemes and XTE themes, so you comment isn't accurate. phpNuke doesn't have a theme system - at least it doesn't have a system other than AutoThemes.
