    Hello,

I have read through quite a few posts here and I still have not found the answer for my problem. I have successfully installed PostNuke-0.750b. everything installed great. I have admin access so all is good. my problem is that once anyone registers for the site and logs in they can't see any of the menus or blocks. I am not sure what to set the permission at and also what group that registered people belong in. I read through the docs about how to set them and tried those settings that were recommended and still the registered users see nothing.so basically what i am asking is this,

what do i need to set my permissions to in order for people who have registered and loged in to be able to view the blocks and menus?

I have used swiff army knife to reset permissions back to default and still the registered users see nothing:(

I was able to fix the problem by manually adding any registered user to the user group.. If i remember correctly it used to not be that way.. oh well problem fixed. it just means added time manually adding everyone who registers to the user group..

well this is not the solution, possibly you have done something wrong in configuration. You members will propably leave your site before you add them manually if they cant see anything. try reinstaling.

I have a similar problem. Although I think I've done something different. I installed from scratch. Everything seemed to work wonderfully, but I didn't test out ordinary users at that point.

I played around with the site for a while and found that I could change the name of the group Users to the name I wanted (writers). So all it was, was a name change I think. So I went into settings and changed the default group upon joining to writers. writers have the same permissions as users, I just get all these people saying, but I'm not a user, I'm a writer, or how do I sign up as a published author, etc. Annoying! :) So I figured having different group names would help.

Problem is, registered users can't see anything but the forums (PNphpBB). I've read through the documentation and what I understand of it, I've tried to do. I created a writers group with the same permissions as users originally had. Still a no go. No menu, no blocks, etc.

    I'm using a commerical theme from Themesforge.com.

Any ideas? I'm hoping to launch the site soon, but this obviously won't allow me to do so. I love everything about PostNuke, except this! :)

    Thanks in advance!
    Ally

Its definately because you have the incorrect permissions for the group. Please post all your permissions and we will do our best to try and help. Im figuruing u are not giving your users at least read permission.

    Writers .* .* Read

Remember that perms work in a hierarchy format.

Is that what you guys need? I'm going to go back and reread the docs, maybe then I'll understand what it means to work in a hierarchy format. :)

    Thanks!

This is exactly what your needing. Put it right above number 4 (unregistered)

Every group needs at least Read Access. So if the group doesnt have a general permission like what i stated above, it wont be able to see any blocks.
