Can my theme know which module is loaded?

    Hi guys,

    I am thinking of doing some changes on my theme, in particulat i will implement some sort of tab on the theme header for basic site activities like ( News|Articles|Reviews|Discussions|Links|Downloads|top 10|Help|Search ) and also have an image on the header to indicate which one of these modules is now active.

    My problem is how do i tell which module is loaded? is there an API call that can give me that info???

    i apreciate your help.
