Our site was comprimised over the weekend, so we restored from a back up using web host manager.
All my other sites are working except for my main site. Autothemes is messed up, so is "blocks" permissions and a few others. The main site is what the subsites share tables with. A full re-install is last on my list I am wondering if i can somehow get a few of these working again...
Whey I try to initialize my modules I get this error:
'Failed to get module ID'
When trying to create a new block, I get to put in the name but no other fields come up, no dropdown or submit button.
When editing a theme in AutoTheme instead of the .html index pages all i see is "Array" for all my options.
If anyone has any insight to solving some of these, I would be endebted to you.
Thanks

Site hacked over weekend now: 'Failed to get module ID"

Ok, so I flushed the block table and put in the default block database back in.
I also overwrote the old files of the blocks module under "module" with the latest ones.
I still get the same thing when I try to create a new block:

If all else fails, I'd try an upgrade to .760.

Are you really sure the site was hacked? The 'array' value for many of the module vars is consistent with the host having upgraded PHP but not the zend optimizer.

Hey guys, Yes the site was hacked, but we had to do a restore and I believe that when they reimaged our server they put on a new version of linux (Enterprise) I guess with the upgrade they did upgrade PHP and mysql but maybe not zend optimizer I will check.
Thanks.
I think I will try the upgrade to 760. Thanks Mark/Hammerhead.

If the zend optimiser hasn't been upgraded then .760 won't help as you'll see the same problem. Resolve this with your host first. Can you provide me with some details of the hack (logs etc.) - was it the result of not having applied one of the security patches?

The suggestion to upgrade was only a 'last resort' thing - work with Mark a little first, see if it's something else...

Sure,
It was the actual server that was hacked, since then I have added a few things to our server and I am looking into some other security features as well.
Here is what Support found.
"Checking `ifconfig'... INFECTED
Checking `pstree'... INFECTED
Possible t0rn v8 \(or variation\) rootkit installed
chkproc: Warning: Possible LKM Trojan installed"
Also I just checked and Zend Optimizer was not added back to the server. I am getting it re-installed now. Hope that helps because I have had some crazy bugs with the site and everything I do makes it worse.

Ok - thanks for confirming that.
A server without the zend optimiser should be fine but it's one with a recent PHP build (PHP 4.3.10+) and an earlier zend optimiser that causes a problem.

Ok, got Zend on and still had the same issue.
I upgraded to pn760 and 90% of my weird anomolies have gone away, such as limited admin access for the admin group. Weird array messages, and a whole host of others.
Anyways, I just have to go through and re-add all my auto blocks in AutoTheme and I don't have any Icons or Links in the Admin section. Checked the Modules table and the modules are PN Admin1 and state is 3, but I don't have any I can manage any of them from the direct URL but not the backend.

Could be a number of things, I had this with a fresh install of PN 8 on my local system on PHP5. Havent got around to looking at the cause yet.
Anyway, I tried a number of things and eventually got it working.

Means that the default categories havent been added to the admin module database.
To fix this, I first checked that I didn't have the NS-Admin directory in /modules
Then, check the nuke_modules database and remove any instances of NS-Admin
go to index.php?module=Modules&type=admin and deactivate / remove the admin module
Regenerate, initialise and activate it.
With any luck, this time around you should get the default data installed and everything will be in the right place.

When in doubt uninstall and reinstall
That did it, I had to manually set the state to 2 because it wouldn't initilize from the menu but after I activated it, it worked. I still get that message at the top of the screen but at least I can see the admin stuff. I am just exstactic that my site is back online.
Thanks to both of you.
