I want to try out PostNuke so I've downloaded it and am running the install script but, I've hung up on creating the database.

It wouldn't do it for me, and the tutorials I found on-line don't seem to offer a script that will do it either.
    e.g.:

Can anyone tell me how to create a mySql database?

nope. This is an Ftp host -- they have a "Website creator" but it is all about manipulating their predefined HTML templates.

The have means to create SSH, and some protected directories -- and support for PHP, Perl, CGI, etc, but nothing I've found to point-and-click a MySQL database.

I downloaded phpMyAdmin but to learn my way into that would seem to be half-way to creating my own CMS-lite, which is what this group needs. They need a way to revise their own web pages with no HTML knowledge -- which is what brought me to try out PostNuke, but I'm apparently only approaching the skill level to install it on their host.

Thank you V much, but hold them ponies, cowboy, I think I see something.

Apparently the hosting package does include one MySql database, so I'm just getting around to finding out how to get into it. I'd browsed their controls, but when all else failed, I started reading their manual.

I can PM you about what I need, but what I need is a job that uses the skills I have, and more skills.

I'll probably be checking in here till I get this thing configered. Thanks for looking in on me.

I didn't say it's working for me, I said it showed up at the job site ;)

The chore is to take a multiple-page Web site, already configured, and re-produce it from inside this PHP utility. That means I need to turn my background and table color pattern into a theme, deal with the div tags that let me lay images over lines, put link menus in the right place --- then teach somone with no Web design skills how to update it.

The user interface looks easy enough, but so far, I'm finding references to my "homepage" (index.php to replace index.html?). It'll take some trial and error, I'm sure.

I'll pm you the URL and if it's a lost cause, maybe you can save me a few futile hours.
