    hi again

I have re-installed PostNuke and set the admin address, admin name and password.

    I wanted to check something because I have thought of 2 new possibilities myself why the PostNuke failed and I wanted to check incase it goes into an initialization failure again. 1st one was I could have deleted the wrong folder and file but I checked this and made sure I deleted the right files this time;

the other is I could have set the admin path wronging in the settings.

When we set the admin URL do we type in http://www.yoursite.com/html or do we have to put at the end /admin.php? or admin ?

this could be a reason why it failed and I have trouble shooted in the other areas the past few hours.

if I have set it all incorrectly can I just upload the installer folder and install.php file again and re set it.

pls forgive me. I wanted to check what I had done wrong my end as well but couldn't without reinstalling the whole thing again.

What do you mean? To access adminstration, simply log in using your admin username / password and click the admin link that appears in the menu

it is the last step in the install.php where you set the admin settings.

I had a session initialisation failure yesterday and I have been trouble shooting. This is one possibility why it could have failed so I was just checking I had done it correctly because I am nervous of continuing till I check it.

in the last step it says to set the settings for username and admin.

    Admin: name as Admin
username name : name as Admin which u can change
    password: what ever you chose
    your email address
admin url: which I pressume is http://www.yoursite.com/html/ (or whatever you name it)

I take it it is correct?

I did post topic re the initialisation failure on other board yesterday.

Your 'admin URL' is not remotely important, it's simply the URL setting in your profile, and has no effect on the actual functioning of PN

Okies thanks. I didnt dare proceed without checking first.

What would initially cause a session initialisation failure pls? so I can watch out for it next time.

    thanks icon_rolleyes

Either a missing or corrupt nuke_session_info table or a wrong prefix in config.php

Also if you are re-installing, you must CLEAR OUT your table, unless you are going to use a new one with a new name.
