Need help.........  Bottom

  • I've the following problem:

When installing a new block with Newsticker or block-random from Gallery I receive the message:

    Unknown blocktype: gallery_random!
This block doesn't seem to exist. Please check corresponding blocks directory.

When I'm in the add new block menu everything is allright. The random block or newsticker block displays very well. Also when I type the URL directly the random image shows correctly so it seems no permission problem.

But when I go the homepage or whatever page the error appears.

Running Postnuke 760RC4 and Gallery 1.5 and Newsticker 11

Who has the solution or the same problem.

    Thanks for any help.

    Eric
  • First: Don't post twice, it doesn't help, and actually hurts. Other post was removed.
Second: It's a support forum for crying out loud, how bout a helpful topic title so people can know what you need?

  • Mhalbrook, it's his first post and it's a duplicate.....deep breaths man deep breaths.

    Rebels,
I'd guess you forgot to upload something or maybe jumped right into blocks and didn't activate the module? Seems elementary, grab the readme file and retrace your steps.
  • Bri,

I upload the modules to the directory as mentioned. After that I regenerated the modules, initialised and activate them as the manuals mentioned.

A lot of hours where spent already but I can't find the solution.

I'm most wondering that everything works allright when I'm in the add new block menu.

Arggghh.... sorry for crying out loud...

All the more reason to point out the guidelines that are stickied in every forum.

Also, it's possible that the random block for gallery is not compatible with .760. I'd ask in their forums if anyone is using it with .760RC.

  • Rebels, nothing in blocks or under modules a pnblocks directory?
&60, good point by MHalbrook. Go back to where you downloaded Gallery, is it compatible with .760? I'd guess most module developers are getting their stuff 750 compliant and since 760 isn't the official release yet, they're not there yet either.
  • Hi All

I've just prepared an updated random_block for Gallery 1.5 and PostNuke .76RC4b.

    Get it from my site
