pnTresMailer is a great module but doesn't currently work in PN .75 or .76.
I'm considering the module for one of my sites but am looking for anyone who's currently using it on their site so I can get some real life stats. For example, will it scale? How many members/subscribers will it support?
I'm also interested in working with the maintainers at http://canvas.anubix.net/ or anyone else to bring it up to the current PN standards. :)
I know this is a valuable module and would like to see it continue to be supported and available freely to anyone who needs it.
BTW: if you're interested in supporting the development let me know, no donation is too big or small. :)

I'm using it on a large site, but so far have a small subscriber list, only 23 members have signed up. The biggest bug I see with it, is that it won't show me the subscriber list unless I look at the list from the archived newsletters area. So I can't moderate the subscribers list at all.
It doesn't scale to a multisite plugin format at all, so that means if I want to include information from other subsites in pnTresMailer, I have to manually add the data, as the plugins currently only pull from the site it sits on directly.
Also, although it gives an HTML and text choice when editing and previewing, there is no way for users to choose which version they want. They automatically get the HTML version. I'd prefer to use the text version if I was able to configure it for that. -

You could lool at the old API compliant multimailer module I wrote a few years ago. You may be able to find a copy somewhere.
It is not temlpated to pnRender though.
I think it was coded to allow users to choose what format to receive the newletters in.
You might be able to merge that code into pnTresMailer. -

At Spidean right now out of 31,821 members there are 19,146 subscribers. I've sent out 3 or 4 newsletters when the subscriber count was probably 15,000 to 20,000. There are some features I would like to add, but it seems to work fairly well for what it does. If you haven't seen my newsletter, I just took my home page theme.html, stripped out some stuff and used that as the newsletter template. You only have to spend 15-30 minutes getting used to how it functions. I haven't yet had time to look at the code to see how easy it is to add functionality, but it seems to do 10,000+ subscribers fairly well. Probably depends more upon your host.
Thanks!

Hi All:
Well, I can put $25 for pnTresMailer fund. I dont use the Newsletter much but IT is WORTH IT. I think _IF_ PostNuke users work TOGETHER as community we will have more and better options for our web sites.
I hope we can FUND 3 to 4 KEY projects, altough with the 1,000's PN sites thats is a ridiculous amount. The community working as community have many many possibilities.

Thanks for the info Shawn and I think you're right about the dependence on the host. :) BTW: how long does it take you to send out one newsletter? :)

Thanks edfel, yes agreed I think if we leverage the people who would/could use the module we could do alot. Even if we had 100 people donate $5.00, the cost of a Starbucks coffee we would have a nice amount to offer as an incentive for a programmer to work on the module. :)

I don't remember exactly. I just hit submit and let it crank and minimize the window. I beleive it's about a couple of minutes, but not sure. I'll send out one this week and I'll make sure and pay attention to the time.

Larry, are you saying you don't have a copy of MultiMailer. I still have the copy you sent me if you need one. BTW can't say how glad I am you're on the mend. Hope you're doing well. :)

Has anyone had problems with gmail, hotmail subscribers?
Seems as though they block my newsletter cause they think it's a mass spam attack or something.
I only have 2,000 subscribers. -
