..I've got a little cracking tool (macKrack). it effectively cracks SHA1 and MD5 hashes in seconds. I'm just curious what others think about this and whether we should start moving to a salted MD5.
note: it's far more difficult to crack numeric and, more specifically, alphanumeric (numbers and letters) hashes.. and of course, the longer, the better.

pretty safe. having your database compromised would be the larger concern.. I think if anything, people should be aware that "chicken" is easier cracked than "c41c|<3n"... if they weren't already. -
