  I'm looking at PN "ShoutBox" modules and was wondering what you would recommend.
  
  It seems there are two leading candidates:
  
  ShoutBox 0.97 from PNForum.de and Vistra Shoutbox 1.3.…rom Codebird Design.
  
  My requirements are simple and I need nothing fancy. I want the ShoutBox to be as simple and as clean as possible and to be something that's GPL and that is in semi-active development (read: not orphaned). Full support/compatability with PN .750+ would be a huge plus too.
  
  Can anyone recommend one or the other above, or even any others that I might have missed? I'm eager to learn what you may know...

  I've tried Vistra Shoutbox and had problems with it. I'm moving on to ShoutBox...

  ShoutBox didn't work for me either, went back to Vistra Shoutbox and now that my site has proper DNS hosting, it is working perfectly. :D

  Try TagIt! It's derived from ShoutBox, but seems to work a bit better.

  my only problem with all the shoutbox options in PN, is that none of them allow for a guest to post a nick.
  
  maybe what i want is a guestbook,
  
  
  are there any shoutboxes that allow a unregistered user to enter a nick?

  Thanks for the TagIt recommendation, I still have intermittent problems with the Vistra ShoutBox, so hopefully this will fix it...
