Hello nukers. Please advise what the safest way is to upgrade a community site from .726 to the latest stable release. And are there any advantages in doing something like this?

    Let me know, please.

For the safest upgrade to .760, better wait for a stable, production release of it!

In the meantime, you can upgrade to .750, which IS the latest stable release.

Safest method: backup everything and follow the instructions.

Plenty of advantages, not least the security ones. New features as well in .750

If certain modules may give you a problem, but the vast majority will be fine.

That's a good idea. To be honest, I've had no problems with modules and .750, but some have....

    Hi

The time has come to move my old 0.726 site to a new server, and I would like to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade to the latest (0.760) release, as I have been often encouraged by knowledgeable people here.

I would appreciate your suggestions about the best way to do this. After I install a fresh 0.760 on the new server (which is actually a temporary server for testing purposes), what should I do next? I understand that some modules may not work, but how can I transfer my customization (themes, languages and so on)?

Thanks in advance and kind regards.

You'd be better off transfering your current .726 site to the new server, and performing the upgrade procedure as outlined in manual.txt

Thank you, Simon. Just let me check if I understood you:

    - Download/install 0.726 on the new server
    - Move current site
    - Apply the upgrade to 0.760

    Is that right?

    Thanks!

Another silly question: where can I download 0.726? I can't find it on downloads.postnuke.com

    Thanks

Just move the filesystem from your current site across - old versions aren't distributed on postnuke.com
