OK. Right now, I'm using FF 1.7.3 on my laptop at 1024. Why don't I see this? Am I looking for it in the wrong place? If the problem really is with Firefox, could someone please explain why I'm not seeing any horizontal scroll bar?

Well, for starters, there never is or was a Firefox version 1.7.3. You are probably talking about Mozilla. Mozilla should render webpages the same as Firefox because they use the same engine (called Gecko), but that's assuming they are using the same version. I'm pretty sure Mozilla is usually behind Firefox in terms of updates to the rendering engine.
I see the problem in Firefox 1.0.2 (latest version). -

I'm not sure how these have crept in... but I too can see these. I'm offline for a few days to attend a funeral but if they've not been taken care of by the time I get back i'll fix them then.

Sorry to get your tiny little panties in a bunch iammaxus. Actually I'm using Firefox 1.0 on the laptop I was using. I read the wrong version number.
But what's your point?
My point was that I don't, and never did, see the horizontal scroll bars on Firefox on any of my machines running two different operating systems.

Slugger,
I see them on the frontpage of pnDocs for instance.
Thanks...why was it so hard to get that info? :)
Unfortunately, I still don't see it. I'm on a Mac right now. Is it possible this might be related to a Firefox extension that I have, or don't have?
The reason I care is that, if others are seeing something I'm not (Mac/Windows: IE, Safari, Mozilla, and Firefox), I know others might be seeing something I'm not seeing as far as my sites are concerned. :(
Thanks again warrick.

Slugger, I think you may have simply missed the links in the first post.

Slugger,
I'm not a Firefox user, so I just have a base install. I only fire it up to test themes before deployment. Thus, I don't think I'd have any kind of plugin. I'm using a Windows Prof system. -

I use FF regularly and have several developer extensions installed. BTW I love 'em! Could it be that one of these extensions is mitigating this problem?

except docs.postnuke.com the themes on the various subsites should be fixed now (and at least the frontpage validates against xhtml 1.1 strict).
still some work to do but 'as time goes by...'
