Don't know if you use Firefox but it's great for sorting that sort of stuff out. Get the developers tool bar extention for Firefox and you can outline all the table cells in a page to see whats going, on as well as heaps of other useful tools. Doing that you can see where you have a whole lot of empty table down that side of the page. Well, those table cells arn't really empty that have all go something like:

    Code

    <td bgcolor="#ffffff">&nbsp;</td>

    or

    Code

    <td>&nbsp;</td>

in them which holds the cell open so it shows as a border in your page. Get rid of the ones you don't need and you should be closer to getting what you want.

Get into xanthia fromt he admin menu. There are little tiny block icons almost like a <. You'll find them occasionally in bunches. I imagine the idea is to have alot of blocks so people can customize it however they want. Myself, and you apparently, need to remove a few or maybe you just wanna make it that blue background so it blends in.(edit)
Click on one of those little <(it's a very light blue icon) You'll see a block number in the new window. Remember that number and close that popped up window.
(Sorry can't recall which) Click on either block position tags or the block one at the bottom of the xanthia menu.
Edit or delete whatever number block.
For me I think CCblock(center block) was 5. I added a border in.
    6,7,8 I think I deleted.
Sorry it's late, my mind's a little fuzzy. I might be a click or two off. I think I got ya headed in the right direction though.

oh one more thing, margin width is either at the top of the master.htm file or in the style sheet. Definitely came across that recently.
