Okay.. this is what I've got so far.. please feel free to comment on any changes or additions..
------------------------------------------------------------------
pnModel
A brief description of proposed enhancements to the structure and elements of the Postnuke team system.
1) Background
2) pnCommunity
3) pnDocumentation
4) pnDesign
5) pnMarketing
Background:
These propositions were created in order to distribute weight and tasks more evenly in order to optimize efficiency without increasing any one persons workload.
pnCommunity:
While awareness of global communities exist, there is no program to recognize them or their service. A proposal to recognize/certify global communities was made in order to: a) Protect the Postnuke namesake. b) recognize global communities as "official" representatives of the Postnuke CMS. As suggested in the proposal was the further establishment of the Translation team into an pnInternational team, headed by the current team lead, David Nelson. Staff should be chosen accordingly. Briefly described; the team would be responsible for: Coordinating with international community heads and building/distributing itineraries and press releases, collecting translations and monitoring sites for adherance to certification standards.
Theory:
Guidelines will need to be met in order to satisfy the requirements of certification. These guidelines may include: 1) valid (x)HTML 2) Unified Code of Conduct 3) Certification must be prominently displayed 4) Adherance to an advertising policy. This will provide Postnuke.com (the central authority) to protect the product's namesake, prevent liabilities, maintain unified standards, reward global communities with the prestige of recognition, bind the global communities into one official entity and provide and open channel of communication within the Postnuke webring.
pnDoc Team:
Currently, documentation is assigned. A proposal was made to further establish a "concrete" pnDocumentation team. The documentation project should be "Parented" by the pnSupport team leaders, Michael and Simon. Michael and Simon will be tasked with the formation and guidance of the pnDocumentation team. They should choose two (2) team leaders which to mentor and guide to maturity. Upon maturity, accesses will be handed to the pnDoc team leaders who will then coordinate & update documentation, staff their team and utilize tools available to them, including, but not limited to, the pnCommunity. The documentation team should be given a forum to discuss itineraries and goals. Some portions of their itineraries may be made available to the pnCommunity via "newsletter" to create open opportunities for any willing contributor. Build and produce an itinerary.
Theory:
By creating a documentation team as a subsection of a well established team, the chances for growth and success of a fledgling team are far greater than that without guidance. An established team will have a single priority whereas the current team must split their priorities.
pnDesign Team:
Currently, the design team is understaffed. It's been proposed that the design team be increased to assist in marketing materials, user interface, press releases, site maintenance and development of core sponsored themes. Build and produce an itinerary.
Theory:
Aesthetics are an integral portion of product success. Enhancements to this understaffed area would greatly benefit other areas.
pnMarketing Team:
Currently the marketing team is understaffed. It's been proposed that this team be increased to assist in the production of marketing materials, maintain advertising campaigns, build and distribute press releases and maintain community involvement (ie: interviews, contests, games ..etc.). Build and produce an itinerary, compile itineraries for distribution.
Theory:
Marketing has often been soley responsible for business and product success. There have been incidences where products have been so well hyped by marketing that the demand quickly exceeds supply driving prices beyond reason. Imagine paying upwards of $2000 for a tiny stuffed animal. -

vworld
I would appreciate feedback on my previous suggestion in the thread.
..definitely. I had quite a bit to say, but it was lost in the tragic death of my session. I'll take another poke tomorrow and go over the above as well.
Viva PN!

Note, this has been sent to Mark, Andreas, Harry, and Drak and has also been sent to the lists for input. :)

The purpose of the team is to protect the product's namesake, prevent liabilities, maintain unified standards, reward global communities with the prestige of recognition, bind the global communities into one official entity and provide and open channel of communication within the PostNuke webring.
The following guidelines need to be met to be certified as an official International PN Site
1) valid (x)HTML
2) Unified Code of Conduct
3) Certification must be prominently displayed
4) Adherance to an advertising policy
5) Acceptable use of logo/name
Please note the details are going to flushed out but for now this is the basic outline.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents and state that I'm really pleased with the direction of this discussion. The ideas being presented now are extremely good and we're now on the path to putting an organization in place that can make the most out of PN's greatest assets, it's volunteers.
It's unfortunate that my use of PN has decreased, but I'm more than happy to continue as a community support team member. -

we may be able to resolve the challenge by providing a way for people to learn how they "fit".

scan a list of current projects, our wish list
Some cents for that

(this is to be edited, even deleted if required in case i have any chance of getting pncat.com certified, if not i'll be a good example for others of what is NOT going to be certified)

Certification prominently displayed
I prefer a redirected subdomain than a banner, and maybe is more secure .The banner thing can be copy/paste..
What i'm worried about is that this thread is not 'much' suitable for non-fluent english readers, and now they are the people who this is 'more' adressed to. I've send some (non english) here and they couldn't get it all.
News are expected somewhere else soon anyway i guess..
-------------------------------------------
Contests??
hotscripts did one about the worst website, the winner one it's been moved, ...
--------------------------------------------
Interviews..definetely,
-Hard talk style (BBC World) included?;)
...
-Wish lists for pn.com homepage?!

there have been 'some' news,
i think the breakesthrough is the 'Postnuke needs you' one.. and some other devs 'coming back'
now, in a matter of some days/weeks..., we will able to know experiences from devs about..
How do you work together?
which would ease-speed up the need for integrating good coders to the core development..
I have read somewhere:
'there are a lot of things from the phpnuke stuff which needs to be cleared still'
and from MW
'if you want to take this development, go for it' (about multisites)
zoom, warrrick, cuervo, IR,.. should code some core too: 'the maximum for it'
iammaxus, craigh, alar, .. want to be docs (guau, guau..) -forgive me ;)
we(OS people) are more productive if we are individualistic, it's a bit true but not enough
ex:
why cuervo needs to post 'i do modules, so if you want i can help' without receiving a PM from Programers team(i guess)
does he need to win the confidence still? check his profile(and status there) if you doubt!
why i can't post to Zoom when he is unpolite: have you/handle your coding to ... i think he wants and is a very good one although i met portalzine at pn.com through 'his' new.. ;)
My doubts come from a 'civilservant' point of view (coders are the military in this paralelism), so i can be wrong
also a rss from this forums will be(i've read), so better we get ready for that!
