Hi again,
I installed AutoTheme by copying the files from the zip into my site's root folder as the guide said to... but none of my autothemes work and all I see are the background colors of the themes and some links which i have to highlight with the mouse pointer (or select) to see... I contacted Warrick regardin the AutoTheme theme i purchased from ...spidean... but afterwards figured no AutoTheme themes work on my site. He suggested reinstalling but this did not help. Is there something i'm doing wrong? somebody please help!
Cheers...

i initialized and activated AutoTheme... and i can even go to its admin and see options... but themes just do not show fully... all other admin functionalities seem to work except the theme elements i.e blocks etc.
About chmod777, does this also apply to windows xp? if so, please tell me how to do this... -

Are you running your page on your homeserver? Windows with Apache Server?
If not you need to chmod 777 (means write permission) the autotheme.cnf on your server.
There are 2 ways to do it. Use your FTP uploader and go to modules/Autotheme/autotheme.cnf right klick on the file and click properties. There you can give the write permissions.
If you use Cpanel, go to the file manager, modules, AutoTheme, and click the link autotheme.cnf on the right side of the screen will be 5 commands, use "change permissions"
I installed AutoTheme about 100 times on so many pages, and I never had problems. So I think it can't be a big problem

ok forget about chmod 777, this seems to be a issue with your server. I'm using a apache server on windows and have no issues with AutoTheme. The only issue i've got is that my PHP don't have enough modules installed, what makes it impossible for me to run certain modules.
I had some problems with apache on windows too, and needed to install apache again with PHP, MyPhpAdmin, MySQL. You might have to do the same. Export before your tables from the mySQL DB and save it somewhere as SQL file and save your postnuke directory.
Here you can download a self installer for a Apache suite with MySQL, PHP and PHP MyAdmin http://www.devside.n…erver/free/download

wow it seems this will be a simple install.. do i have to uninstall all previous mysql, PHP and phpMyAdmin? also when i set them up previously it was much more difficult than the self-installer at that website... is it the same as settin them up individually? -

Couple of questions?
Which version of AutoTheme are you using.
When you installed AutoTheme did you put the new pnadmin into modules/blocks
Did the software update the blocks tables
Do some blocks show and not others or all of theme not show
Like mazsalleh I've installed AutoTheme hundreds of times and never had a problem I didn't cause, maybe between us we can help you. -

Ok, try this one
Create a new directory in your www or webroute, localhost. Create a new database and install postnuke 0.726 the older version.
Try to install now AutoTheme and see what happens.
I never was able to install postnuke gold 750 on my localhost. Always when wanted to install autothemes my side was gone. I know that the issues were settings in my PHP settings, but I wasn't interested to mess with them around.
If it works with PN 0726. Once you got your side ready for upload, upload it and make a update to 0750 on your main server.
Good Luck!
