Old custom theme not quite working with .750 postnuke.  Bottom

  • I made a new installation of Postnuke. I used brought over a custom theme I did in the previous version (from a different directory and installation).

The one thing I noticed is that I don't think things refresh like they used to. I see that if I use the Lite that comes with .750 that it refreshes fine. But if I'm in (for instance) Modules, and activate/deactivate it goes to a Blank Page. I don't have this problem in the default theme.

I'm guessing I'm missing some kind of code in the theme or something.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Jonathan.
  • What about leaving a link so someone can have a look.

but I am playing with it, so hopefully it will be the same.

I'm guessing everything works great if you do it in Xanthia.

Is there a way to make a new theme in Xanthia without writing over the ones they include. I guess I could do that as well. I'm thinking of downloading an existing theme (the files) and then editing the HTML then editing the theme I got it from. But do I also put the images in that folder? I guess I would.

Is that the best way to go about it?
  • Seems to refresh OK for me. Sometimes they will hang a bit if an image is missing, even a 1x1 spacer.gif. Ckeck your error logs to make sure nothing is missing.

Also try and get your theme to validate, go here:
    http://validator.w3.org/

If you want to try making a Xanthia theme start by editing the pnDefault theme. Playing with that will get you going but back it up first.

If you haven't already get a developement server on your localhost, there are plenty to choose from, I use:
EastPhp from http://easyphp.org/ That makes life a lot easier than doing it on a live site. You get to have fun breaking things and keep all your hair.
  • well, you may not see the refresh thing. I only saw it when I was in some of the Administration pages. Like when I activate a module it doesn't refresh, etc.
