PN main site module list RANT  Bottom

  • I run a football site and each offseason(spring) I go to post nuke modules page and weed thru lists of modules looking for "the latest and greatest". I used to be able to find a list. I click on each, review the module explanation paragraph and decide if I want that one.
    Now, I've got issues though.
    There's 7 topics
    All topics(general, OK)
    Beta(works in progress)
Testing-What's the difference between this and beta?
    Modules-all topics part 2?
    Non-Standard-3rd party?
Official Modules-PN branded by "the man" I guess
Postnuke-wait isn't that like "all topics"? or "modules"?
I'm confused as to the groupings of these items.

    More issues-
I click on "see all" and I think that's where I got my list other years(mentioned before) There's a ton. There's a whole bunch from 2002 and 2001. Can we get an "old modules" topic?
With the release of PN Gold including Xanthia and pnRender we all probably need to know which will and won't work with pnGold. Some modules mention whether they are but that's at the very end of the description. I thought to only search for modules after October 2004. The date Gold came out. At my site, I left the module htmlpages and that actually works even though it's quite old. So in theory I guess modules after Oct 04 is a good theory but it's not foolproof. Could we somehow get a little pnGold icon next to "articles" about modules that do work with pnGold?

Please forgive my rant. It used to be real sharp and with all the modules listed, it was one heckuva resource. I would just like to see it go back to being that. I'm a big fan of postnuke and have used it and recommended it for a few years now. I mention this hoping postnuke site mods will value a candid well intentioned opinion and so that the 3rd party module developers will make sure to mention whether they are .750 compatible and to put it in the right section when they post it.
    Thanks for your time,
    Bri
