UpDownload problem: ERROR! Could not upload file.  Bottom

  • I've installed the UpDownload module (version2.1.1) on a .750 gold site. I imported previous downloads into the updownload tables and all is well.......except when I try to add a new download. I get this:

    ERROR! Could not upload file.

I posted this question on the author's site, but I haven't heard back yet. In the mean time, has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what was the resolution? Thanks in advance!
  • Ensure your store_folder is chmod 755 ( or can be written to. ) this is probably your issue.

My webserver owns the folder, and it was already 755 anyways. I changed to 777 temporarily without any luck. Thanks for the suggestion :D

    Anything else to try????
  • Can you tail your log in a shell to see if there are any errors there?? Also you may want to try to change the .htaccess file to a backup name and then try ( mv .htaccess bak.htaccess ) under the given store_folder dir.

  • You write you have insert some downloads before, how did you made this with the categories.
By adminpanel or insert it in the DB directly ?

Directly into the database - basically imported the "downloads" module table records. These are working fine, the problem is when I try to add a new download via the updownload module :D
  • The problem seems to be site related - because I have the UpDownload module (same version) working fine on another site/server yet both sites on the server I'm currently working with will not allow uploads via the UpDownload module. They get the same error I'm asking about. What should I consider that would give me my error (as far as apache variables are concerned) ?
  • Hi dunny, I hope you find the answer in my forum on http://www.petzi-juist.de
