I love postnuke...
Since my language are not english by default... I often translate new modules etc... I even re-make some to make the language optional... During these process, I have been thinking... there must be a better way than today... So many files... so many places... often the same words...
I would like to start a discussion that my can result in something useful for the Postnuke dev team.
I have one idea, but with many problems to be solved.
Make on large Global file for each language
Some of the problems to be solved are:
- How can this be handled regarding new words/updates ?
- Will this slow or speed up the sites in total ?
- How can it be made "easy to use" for developers ?
- Should it be in seperate files for different letters like a.php, b.php
- Should there be an offical commitee for adding new words? (approvels)
Any ideas out there?
As postnuke grows... I think this is an essential problem...
Of course you can make a solution for the official postnuke only, but then the many good modules/blocks created outside will suffer... and we all know and love em... many are even incorporated later in offical releases..
If there are simular discussion ongoing, or this is a concern of the PN-team, appologize given..
Yours
