I've found gmail to be the smartest webmail system I've ever seen. 1 GB is very nice, but the threading is killer. I'd never be able to keep up with the lengthy pnTeams discussions without it. Other featues like the to: box that autofills, the overall ease of use... it's unbeatable for, especially for a free service.
Possibly the best part - in seven months, ZERO spam.

\i tell you, I will seriously consider moving my client correspondance over to gmail once it is announced stable - with my hard drive crashing and the theft of my laptop awhile back I have lost all confidence in locally stored email - hmm I wonder if it is possible to synchronise with your local machine... , anyway I think googles datacenter would supply a hell of a lot more security and backup systems than \i possibly could aquire and for freee too lol...

Well, I've been careful about using my gmail in public, but many services (Yahoo!, Hotmail, etc) will start getting spam immediately. So far, I've never even seen a spam in my spamfilter. It's delightful getting email I want and nothing but.

Wendell
Yeah, I already have an account, but never saw anything about it being spam-free.... as it is, I get about 100 spams daily.
Well if you stopped signing up for all those mailing lists that send porn images to your mailbox you might not have this problem...
