I'm new to Postnuke, but I'm hoping to find some uses for it in my work as a language teacher at a community college.
Basically, I would love to see a module that would allow users to search for other users with similar language and/or culture learning interests. For example, and English speaker might search for a native Spanish speaker wishing to study English. Alternatively, an French speaker might search for a Chinese citizen interested in learning French, with the French person interested in learning about Chinese culture (but not necessarily the language).
After looking over the list of search results and perusing the profiles of possible language exchange partners, a user would then make contact with a possible partner, suggesting a few possible times and dates. The possible partner would receive the PN-internal message and then have the chance to do one of three things: accept one of the suggested times/dates, decline them, or suggest alternatives (this last option would basically begin the contact process over again).
After one of the users accepted a date and time, the PN system would update both users' personal calendar. Ideally, a PN-external e-mail could be sent out a day or two before the agreed upon meeting time.
The ability to tie a chat module into this would be great. If there were some way for, say, Flash/Shockwave movie to query this proposed PN module for authorization for the chat, it would be perfect.
