Like postnuke, but i only need the news add-on module.  Bottom

  • Hey all,

I have a test site that i'm having built for me and i needed just a news article module that i can install on a basic php/html site to function just like the one on postnuke.

DOes anyone know any system/script that that i might be able to use?
  • Not sure what you're asking but I would suggest installing a stripped down version of PostNuke and then just use the News feature.

  • Look at http://testing.interoestates.com

I want to be able to add news articles (like adding articles through postnuke) at the bottom of the site right below HOT PICKS properties.
  • OIC what you mean. Which theming system are you using (AutoTheme or Xanthia)?

If you are using AutoTheme then you should include a block tag in your theme under the "hot picks" properties area. Then after this is set up in the theme layout then all you need to do is create the area block using the core/stories format choose the position of the area block you created in your theme. This provides you with a way to show the news headlines in the position on the page.

    Does that make sense?

  • Thats the issue, this site was created without postnuke, its php/html So i'm not using postnuke, But i want just the news feature of postnuke or any other content managemtn system that can be incorporated into this site.

I just need a solution on how to add news articles, to a non-nuke site if that is even possible.
  • Hmm...that's strange. When I view source for the site it says it is using PostNuke.

  • Well thats the work of my designer, my current site is using postnuke, however i cant use this design with it, and thats why i'm asking that question.
Do you know of any thing that i can use?
  • OK, I'm a bit confused but to answer your question. I don't have any idea of anthing else to use. Sorry...

But the confusion comes with you saying you currently are using PostNuke but can't use this design on the site. Why not? The design you have on the site is easily recreated using one of the theming engines.

Again, sorry I couldn't be of any help. Good luck.
