Hey all,
Using chat modules, I always wanted to somehow display the number of people currently in the chat on the main menu next to the link, as in:
Chat Room (3)
Well, I finally did it for SPChat, the module I'm currently using. I modified the main menu block code menu.php to display the number of people in the SPChat module each time the main menu displays. It's a very easy mod, and I've posted the code for anyone who wants to see it in our downloads section at www.adatnet.com.
See: Downloads -> PostNuke -> Blocks
One thing though; I hard coded the name of my table into the code, so you will have to change that, as well as checking to see whether your menu uses [SPChat] or {SPChat}.
After checking those two things, just plug the menu.php file in menu.tar.gz into:
includes/blocks
And away it goes.
There are no other mods to menu.php, so unless you've changed this file yourself, you should be fine.
