Hi,
I'm using PostNuke 0.7.5.0 and I'm trying to change the colours in a xanthia theme . I've tried using the 'theme colour' page in the Xanthia module. It seems to be limited to the colours in the the web palatte. If I type the hex value in the 'red', 'green', 'blue' fields on the page and then hit the 'submit these colours' button at the bottom of the page, nothing happens. if I click on the colours in the palette the updates will be made. Unfortunately, the colours I want to use aren't in on the palette on the page
Out of curiousity, I started looking at the site's database with phpMyAdmin and I found the table that contains the theme's palette information, '_theme_palette'. The table has cells for each of the theme's colours (bgcolor1,bgcolor2,hover, link etc).
Is there any reason why I can't enter the colours I want directly into the database? I haven't done so yet incase there are relationships between the various tables that I haven't noticed.
Does anyone have any thoughts on changing Xanthia theme colours this way?
Thanks in advance -

It should not cause any problems doing it this way. One thing you want to do is backup the database before trying it. Also remove any cached config files in the pnTemp/Xanthia_Config directory

Hi Larry,
Thanks for the information about directly editting the database tables. I'm curious though, am I correct in assuming that I should be able to enter the colour hex values in the the Red, Green , Blue fields on the Xanthia theme colour page? Is not being able enter custom colours a bug or am I trying to do something beyond the current scope of the module (or am I using the module incorrectly).
I don't mind entering the data directly into the database table but in seems abit unusual considering the way that someone normal configures Post Nuke modules.
In anycase, thanks again for your response. -

You are correct about entering the hex values, I am still working on some bugs in the system and will be correcting this also, if I can duplicate it.
One question for you,
When you add the hex values did you click on the button for the area you want to change the color for first?
I do not remember if the instructions in the colors control note this.

Hi Larry,
When you add the hex values did you click on the button for the area you want to change the color for first?
Yes I did click on the button for the are first. I've also tried using different browser/ platform combinations (XP IE&Firefox, OS X IE&Safari) to make the changes on the off chance that it was a browser issue. Regardless of the platform/browser, the RGB values were being updated.
Thanks again for your help -

I'm experiencing this same problem. I see that this is an older post...has the problem been fixed in the beta version of PN? I'm using 7.5. Is the current solution still to edit the color values directly in the DB?
