What page are you trying to edit? If you mean index.php, you're editing the wrong file. Though I don't use DW, I'm pretty sure that you're going to edit your theme's template files in it...rather than a PHP script... -

YOu can't edit Postnuke with dreamweaver.
If you want to edit the look of the site you need to edit the "theme" which is found in the themes/ folder.

You cant view PHP files in DW, you can view and edit the Code though. to view PHP/postnuke in DW as it would look on the web you would need to set up a Home sever on your PC or as I have it a scond PC that acts as my test server. I use DWMX to edit some Postnuk stuff but as I said to view it as it would show on the web you need some other stuff like EasyPHP . -

Also a Crimson Editor addict...
I guess I'm an old timer or a martian... I use it for PHP, tpl, HTML, etc... not using DW, GoLive or such...
I use DW for only one thing... for the CSS and other languages reference manual included.

I HEART BBEdit
I knew you had good taste IR but BBEdit and I had to get a divorce.
It's been painful and, while I've tried to pass the time with PageSpinner, there's no spark there.
I really want to get back together with BBEdit but I can't as long as the little "wench" keeps messing around with a bunch of odd characters (AKA accented letters in my language files).
Did BBEdit ever treat you this way? If so, I'd like to know how you handled it. I tried ignoring the problem, yelling, making threats...I've tried everything but nothing seems to make a difference.
Please IR...I'm begging you... I know I can never feel as close to PageSpinner as I did to BBEdit and I'm hoping you can help get "us" back together.

hahaa.. I'm sorry for your loss
I can't really remember ever opening another language in BBEdit.. but I will check it out.. there were a few bugs in a few of the not-much-newer versions that forced me to downgrade.. but this version has worked well for me for quite a while (v7.11).. too much has been added to v8 to be ignored though..so I think i'll be upgrading soon (w/a v7.11 back-up ;) )..
ya' know.. $180 is a lot to pay if it doesn't serve your needs.. I don't see anything on their plug-in page or in support, but i'd think it would be a significant enough problem to have been addressed. you could always try snail mailing them a piece of dog "makings" with a note attached that you've decided to return their product for a refund
..I love it.. recommend it every chance I get.. what version did you have problems with?

I have 8.0.2 which I haven't used since my prior copy ate up all my language files. I know it has to do with ASCII codes greater than 127. Normally (I think) you'd choose another character set (perhaps ISO 8859-1) but I'll be darned if I can get it to stop eating my files.
BTW what FTP client are you using? I'm using Fetch 4.0.3 and I like it a lot more than WS_FTP which is what I use on my pc. IMHO Fetch integrated with BBEdit and Fireworks is a tough combination to beat.

I use Transmit mostly.. a really nice little app. the folks at BareBones had no solution for you? ..I've read where people have had to wait a few updates to get their bugs fixed, but, again, seems to me that would be a biggie.
I'm living in a motel, so I'm no where near my files, but i'd like to see if the same holds true for v7.11..
..I might bother the hair off 'em for a refund if a bug kept me from using the app. ;)

Hi again,
I don't know if it has been fixed or not. I haven't used 8.0.2 yet. I'll give it a try when I get around to it but I spent so much time fooling with the issue, I have no problem finding other things on my plate to do first. I'm funny that way...burn me once, shame on you; burn me twice, shame on me. I just hate the thought that I might be wasting my time all over again.
That was why I was asking if you'd had the problem and what you did. I'm going to take a look at Transmit though I like Fetch and will probably keep using it.
