i know it is possible to make the phpbb forum module open as centre block only, but i want to know how can i do so it opens in a seperate WINDOW only the FORUM and nothing else.
what exactly do i need to do ? so when ppl click on forum it opens not in the page as block but as a new seperate WINDOW.

People have been investigating this. PostNuke isn't very friendly to allowing new windows to pop from menu entries. If you search the forums with keywords like javascript, popup, menu, etc, you'll find these threads that may help.

A simple javascript new window command will do this --
but much better form really to permit the user to make their own choice -- right-click "open in new window" to spawn a new window if they so choose. -

No it won't, unless you have chosen in the forum preferences to have sideblocks. The choice to have blocks or not has nothing to do with what window the forum loads in, it's all about the setting you choose.
