Hi all, I've just come accross a PHP4 and MySQL based script that allows websites to provide automated prediction leagues. I can use this script on it's own but it means users have to signup again which is a pain in the "a.." for any user.
I know this does not relate to PostNuke but it could be an enhancement to any PostNuke website as it will add further interaction with members having to login to participate in the league. I view it as a tool that will keep members coming back for more.
There are lots of football & soccer fans out there infact on closer inspection I think you'll find it's capable of pruducing a prediction league of any sport.
I'm not a developer or PHP coder, although scripts like this make me wish I was as I would try to port it to PostNuke myself.
Take a look and see for yourself, perhaps theres a coder here who's looking for something to get there teeth into.http://www.predictionfootball.com/

Footie is a skill game, what other game requires so much skill with the foot and also a 45 min eachway playing time, ooooh footies not for the faint hearted Americans. You gotta have stamina. heheheh....can see i'm gonna get some stick any time soon. Take care Ron. :D -

Skill? Is that what you call the ability to put Americans to sleep? Wow, great they can kick a ball back and forth for 45 minutes and an exciting 1-0 score! Boooooooring. You blink once and you miss the whole game if there was a score then. Watching Soccer is like watching paint dry, you don't even have cheerleaders! :D -

Thanks Micheal!
but I can't let you leave without having the last word on this. :D
Electric atmosphere you say? Do you mean like uncontrolled rushing the field, fights everywhere, kill your goalie for losing to the Americans type of place?
If so... Then count me in!

When you play a tough contact sport like American Football, where 300 pound real men try to kill each other, you need to wear equipment.
Now, when you play a game where you skip around in shorts and try to rip off your shirt after scoring the only goal of a painstakingly slow game like Soccer, you don't need any protection.
Have a good night Micheal! -

I've managed to hack this code into my site, and it's working as a module...
If anyone is interested in obtaining the hacked script then email me at webmaster@enigmavariation.co.uk and I'll see what I can do.

Great Work enigmavariation, Looks great on your site, please can you package as a module. Nice to see someone take up the challenge, I think a lot of PostNukers will be wanting this very much ....specially the UK crew.

Or alternatively you could try a tough contact sport like rugby where 300 pound men try to kill each other and think that protective equipment is for wimps. :D
Personally I like all three sports although choice of teams to support is currently a bit questionable.
