New Design Not Looking Like It Does On Preview  Bottom

  • I have downloaded the http://www.designs4n…_holidaypassion.gif third-party theme from Designs4Nuke and I've installed it without any problems.

The preview (as above) shows that there are two blocks in the centre of the theme - making four smaller blocks across the top of the page - which then become one centre column further down making one smaller block on the left and right and a larger one in the centre (I hope that I am explaining myself well enough).

I want this design on my webpage, but I can't figure out how to get it to look like that. I can only get it to work with the one larger sized block in the centre with the smaller one either side.

You can view my page at http://www.meandmystuff.com/ but be aware, it's only in it's infancy with me only installing it today. I just wanted you to see the basic layout.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me on this. I'm excited to be setting up this website and I just need a little help in getting it sorted out.

  • http://www.maxdev.com/Article238.phtml Worked for me. After installing the block the trick is adding the blocks you want to display in the, on the left and right, then deactivating them... (not delete) That way they don't show in the side but they show in the center block. You can see an example of this on my site toward the middle bottom with the 2 pnflash blocks side by side in the center. http://www.attackforcez.com
  • Hi ROCOAFZ

Thanks for your reply :) Now I'm reduced to n00b questions :) Well, this is really my first full install of PostNuke so I guess I'll be forgiven :)

I went to the site that you sent me to and downloaded the suggested file. I've ftped it up to my site into my Includes folder but I can't make it appear by adding a block.

    The actual install information says:

"a) Click the "New block" link and enter a title for your block.
Select the "Core/CS CenterB" block from the blocks list.
IMPORTANT! Select the "center" position and the language for
which the block will be shown."

But "Core/CS CenterB" doesn't come up as an option in the drop down menu for me to be able to add it. I've uploaded the extracted zip file a couple of times to make sure it was done correctly, but all to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how this might be acheived. I really like the look of the design that I gave the URL of in my first post. I'm setting my page up as a blog and I think that design doesn't have the "normal" look of a CMS - it's just a bit different.

Many thanks in advance again for any help anyone can give me.

  • Thanks for your help, but I figured out the problem. I had uploaded the files into the wrong area. I cannot believe how silly it was to make such a ridiculous mistake.

    So, thanks anyway!
