URL changes when index is called?

after installing PN to my document root, I notice that when I go to mydomain.com, PN does a redirect on my browser to point to: index.php?...
This isn't great cuz I lose my pagerank status for my domain (www.mydomain.com)
Am I missing something, or do I have to live with this?

I think I might be going crazy... when I go to my site:
http://www.aoguitars.com
I want it just to read as stated above - with no page name appended (so the page rank is preserved) Is there anyway to stop it from doing this:
http://www.aoguitars.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=1&meid=-1
I guess it must be doing a header() redirect at somepoint... Does anyone know how to get around this?
