It also uses the file system setup which is kinda cool, but could easily be compressed to single files.

This is also perfectly possible in PostNuke ;)

I've got too much on myself at the moment (then again, I never seem to have enough free time), otherwise I would consider working on something. A basic newsletter module shouldn't be too difficult...

  • A few years back I integrated phplist into a postnuke module - it was quite quick and dirty, but seemed to work well and it wasn't hard - definetly not hard if I could acheive it back then... so it may be worthwhile looking at working an existing script.

  • I reached the same conclusion Lobos. I'm thinking, if we're talking about potential PN modules, that phplist might be the one to tap because it has the most important features, is well seasoned and pretty active.

Well, Vanessa, I get the impression Slugger doesn't want to sell the list, just send an occasional newsletter in order to maintain ownership and control over the list

buuuff.. this is beyond my understanding, please asist....
so, she sugests me to call her (twice!), we are in the same country(cheap) and i don't ... please vanessa, sugest me to call you!

i think whatever slugger & van could arrange will benefit me, and i think you will arrange something
for common PN marketing or publicity or you'll hear each other, clarify further doubts and will build something new....

I edited a redundant line(1 hour later), sorry
  • Speaking of newsletters, you are probably also very eager to keep your addresses up to date and avoid that users change their address to an invalid one after signing up.
I too have a large site (over 50k members) and I definitely need an enhancement of the user module that will send activation mails, not only at signup, but also when the user changes his e-mail address.

  • i did this last week sometime.

these are my needs (and how i plan on coding the module):

members can sign up for multiple lists
    schedule a messege
allow admin to set which modules in which list
allow users to choose which modules from admin list (??????????????)
stats about who recieves which message
  • don't you prefer to try to enhace the core mail users a bit? and make it core 08 hopefully, i just commented abit my feature request to make it a bit lighter
  • Slugger

    Thanks Cliff,

I refuse to sell or license the list as my biggest fear is people stomping all over it and leaving me as the bad guy.

I think I was mis-understood, I don't mean 'sell' in the sense that the emails are given or provided to any third party. I was giving you the example of pricing. Just a note, although I think we all agree about not providing the emails to third parties, it is a standard industry practice for conferences and other events to do so.

  • Vanessa,

I personally never thought you sold lists; it's your trying to sell the Brooklyn Bridge that has me a bit concerned. icon_lol
