Hi, I'm using PostNuke for a community site I am making, and it is almost perfect for what I want, there are just a few problems.

    1. I want to have an about page that will be a static HTML file for the main content, but with the main menu, polls etc generated. How would I go about this? Is there anyway to do this with current modules

    2. Is there a feature to allow users to submit Articles? It's just I have a tutorial and article sections and I want users to be able to write and submit them (a bit like the news system)

    3. As this is a community site for people making games, I wanted to have a section so people could create progress logs. Is there anyway to do this? It would be a bit like a blog, but with each user being able to create their own, post to it, edit it etc.

In the future, the forums work best if you post one question per thread, and use more descriptive subject lines. A search probably could have answerd some of these.

    A1. See the FAQ here.

A2. Users will have to have the appropriate permissions set. Search the forums for this; it's been covert plenty of times. If you want to approve users posts, have them use the submit news tool built into the default menu. If you want their news posted without approval, change the link to the same address as the Add News icon on the Admin page.

A3. There are journal modules that you can find in the 3rd party mods/blocks fourms that would probably work for this. Each user gets to make entries in a personal journal, which can be made publicly viewable.

Thanks for your help, 1 & 3 are solved now :)

Unfortunately, either I am reading what you said for 2 wrong or you read my problem wrong.

I like the news system as it is, where the user submits, and then the admins accept it. What I want is something like this for Articles. From what I have seen, only admins can write them, and I want users to be able to submit them, and then admins accepts them, like the news system

I would suggest using Pagesetter rather than the Sections module.

Also, in the future, keep it to one question per topic and a descriptive topic title.

Ohhh, articles = sections. You can let users submit articles... but there is no review process. You have to take them or leave them. You can always edit them or delete them, but that's after the fact.
