    Hello, I'm brand new to PN, finding my way around pretty easily for the most part. I would like to restrict main menu options to logged in users only, however I can't seem to find a way to call call login from a button in my theme to show the login menu item in the center block. It appears to be a core function not a module so I'm looking for a way around this.

    Thanks in advance.

    If you want to remove main menu links, you can do this with permissions. Take a look at the default permissions table, it contains an example of this.

    I disabled the menu no problem, but then I have no way for my users to login. This is why I'm trying to call a login from a button. Any thoughts?

    again thanks in advance

    I'm not 100% sure what you're asking here, if you wish to only let logged in users see the main menu then go into Admin > Permissions and set it to only logged in users can see.

    Are you asking to place the log in screen in a center block? Go into Admin > Blocks click edit and then specify it as a center position.

    Sorry...but this is all I'm getting from your post.

    why not in your main menu add a link for user.php, and then use this permission:

    Unregistered | Menublock:: | Main Menu:login: | Comment.

    Anyway, you only need provide a link to user.php in your theme
