    Is it possible to have the log in as the first page that appears (index page) therefore to enter the PostNuke site you have to be a registered user.
    Also is it possible to get rid of the option for unregistered users to become members. I want to make so only the administrator can make a new user.

    Yes, that would be the permissions module inside the Administration Panel

    Yes again, that would be the User Administration inside the Administration Panel.
