But it requires a semblance of creative talent. Which I do not posses, in any form.

I also do not have "creative talent". Yet I was still able to create thepastaguy.com and crayhillsolutions.com with it.
I am REALLY not an artist... but with a good days work I was able to do thepastaguy.com's logo.
Artists can put together sites designs that are much astheticly pleasing. I focus on designing systems and user interfaces.
Going back to the original question, I see this was a very good example of why many people who use CMS systems can fail. -

you should learn it hammer, its not hard... just grows in complexity the more you want/need to know....
Bah, Corel Photo-Paint can do everything Photoslop can,and when you buy it, you've bought the whole CorelDRAW suite, so you get more bang for the buck.
Though I tend to use Fireworks for web site design. But with CorelDRAW package now, you get Draw, which is comprable to Illustrator, Photo-Paint, which is comprable to Photoshop & R.A.V.E. which is their Flash animation package. And it all costs about the same as JUST PhotoShop.

Thanks for the response mgp7419 aka Mike :)
You're right about the terminology. In fact instead of creating ambigous terms I suggest we start using names/terms that are clear to even the advanced users. Common terminology can go a long way in making PN more usable by everyone.

I agree with that... I use postNuke all the time, but I dont have a single peace of "NEWS" on my site... I have "announcements" but no news... And what is a story? I am not writing the next version of harry potter here, and I dont know anyone who has "stories" on their page. Groups of articles or Groups of users? (I dont have a suggestion for that one).
Top Lists, and weblinks is good.
AND WHAT THE HELL IS EPHEMERIDS! I BEEN USING NUKE PRODUCTS FOR YEARS AND I STILL DONT KNOW NOR CARE WHAT IT IS!
Why are Downloads different from Weblinks, especially since you can point weblinks to downloads?
And why isnt the URLS normalized... we got urls in Weblinks, Downloads, Autolinks, Menus, etc. etc. etc.
I hope a version of postnuke doesnt make these urls out of date, cause Im going to be in deep trouble as my site grows...
Their is allot of problems with postNUKE. Its got years and years of development ahead of it... and some features will make things easier, while others will grow older and more powerfull. The terminology will grow up as the product matures.
Hopefully it will happen quicker then latter. BTW, if you really want screwed up terminology, learn Pagesetter -

Photoshop is my all time favorite thing to do.
I sit around and just play with PS all day instead of wasting my brain watching tv or some other trivial pursuit. :)
Me too! I became hooked on it almost ten years ago when the designer of a company I started, got hired away to head up sports merchandising at Disney (Mighty Ducks and Angels). We had a large ad buy and we needed to update some of the images so I learned enough Photoshop, Illustrator, and QuarkXpress over a weekend to get the job done.
Within days, we hired on a new designer (and now have an art department) but I was hooked! In fact, though I'd have to call myself a rank amateur, several of my designs became, and still are, big sellers; in fact, I did 3 of our top 5 selling designs!
I can't imagine life without PhotoShop. Sounds funny but, if you have any creative ilk, it's great medicine. Yes, far better than "TV and those other trivial pursuits" you mentioned.
