  • Well i went for flashchat too, and i must say it's well worth the 5$.

    But... :)
First, i can't access the admin section from within postnuke, i get an "Access Denied".
Second, how to integrate the chat into Postnuke (ie not in a new full page when accessing it, like other mods)?
BTW, thanks IR for your cool block ;) .

    Bye.
  • Thats what I get to.
However, when clicking the module through the admin section it comes up with a page not found.

Also, would like to have it like you have it wedell.
  • Yea, when I click on the FlashChat link in admin I get this error:

The requested URL /admin/index.php was not found on this server. (404 error)

the admin file is indeed there, so I don't know what is going on.
  • Hello,

    1. How can i delete Options button or to make not visible for members but to admins it will?
I want to use only 1 theme and that no 1 change color of buttons etc..
    only Admin can change it...

    2. How can i change smiles?
    3. How can use only 1 language (NL)?

    Thx,

    miggy
  • Most of that information is in the documentation. I don't know of a way to remove the options button, but you can remove all the theme include statements in the config.php file except the one you want. Don't know why you would care if anyone changed anything else. I only have one theme, and let the users change their font color. It works great. It is helpful to allow the font change, makes it easier to keep discussions seperated.

I imagine the language is configurable in the config.php file too. I would join the forum over there and ask these questions to get the best answer.
  • I have installed flash chat, it was initialized, activated but there is no way to access it, please tell me from where a user or admininistrator can access, is there any link or icon to access.................?
  • Re-read the instructions. Depending on how you installed it (module or integrated standalone) will determine how you link to it. You have to either create a block with a link, or add it to your site menu.

As far as admin access, you probably will have to use the path directly to the admin.php file in the ...modules/FlashChat/ directory (i.e. http://www.yoursite.com/modules/FlashChat/admin.php). The admin icon doesn't do anything in PN .750.

All the details you need are in the instructions. If you need any extra assistance I would use the support forums located at http://www.tufat.com.

Sorry for the delayed response. I downloaded the newest version of FlashChat and noticed that the instructions have changed tremendously since the version I installed. With my current installation, there was no other way to install it (as a module) as far as I knew, which is why it is integrated as it is.

I am due for an upgrade and just purchased another license for another site. When I get around to installing it (probably the next week or so), I'll report back my experiences.

I have been in tufat.com and logged in with Russian characters and it was good..

    logik

I installed flashchat a few weeks ago and it works great! The only issue I have is that I can't get it to open inside the Iframe.

..depending on the version, you may need to add this to the index.php file in the FlashChat module:

    Code

    include('header.php');
    [-- CONTENT --]
    include('footer.php');

The Flashchat module is wonderful but I can't get it to run inside the Iframe. I've been working with it for two hours with no luck.

IR, I'm using FlashChat v4.2.1 and PN .75 and the code mod isn't working for me. Index.php isn't what has the flash image in it, it's flashchat.php. But I've tried adding the code to both pages with no luck. There is no header.php or footer.php in that folder so I get errors. I tried to put ../header.php or a complete link in the Postnuke root folder but it says 'you can't access this file directly.'

I realize that we may be using two different versions, but what am I doing wrong?

Also, I can't seem to find the nifty block that you wrote for 'who's chatting'. Got a link? Thanks so much.
  • yeesh.. looks like I missed a few items in this thread :\

Leviathan: honestly, I can't say what might be the problem, being out of the flashchat loop for sometime now.. the last update I bought had some fairly drastic changes, so I really can't take guess at it. :?

miggy: make sure you change the table names to match your flash chat tables... take a look at the top of the file.. i think I wrote something about it there.

    yuk: kudos ;)

    ..appologies to those I've missed.

    Thanks anyway, IR. 8)
  • I've installed FlashChat 4.4.2 with PostNuke .750 and works like a dream - except for one major issue. The admin function only works under the default ADMIN user ID. All Admins on the site work under their own screen name, have been granted FULL ADMIN, but we aren't recognized that way. Apparently it only recognizes the first name in the User bank.

Has anyone seen a workaround for this? I've seen other people post about it on the FlashChat forum, but no one ever answers that question.
  • hi,you guys seem to take this forum as flashchat support forum, lol
